Create scary characters!

Have you ever dared to scare? This workshop is perfect for beginner ghouls and aspirational scream queens. In this workshop we’ll explore how to use movement to create spooky characters that will surely haunt people’s dreams. We’ll then look at how we can put these characters into scenes whether you intended on telling a scary story or plan on disturbing a set’s peaceful existence. Remember, no one can hear you scream on Zoom.

Robyn is an improvisor, writer, and comedic musician who mixes the dark desires of a serial killer with the warm hospitality of a Midwestern housewife. She cemented her love of daring theatrics in her first role where she climbed into a large pot to sling yarn in the titular role of the Magic Pasta Pot. She performs with Highwire Improv where you can catch her monthly show “Steggy Presents” along with the shows she produces including “Oregon Trail Live” and “One True Pairing”. By day she is a professional garbage human helping to save the ocean from plastics. She’s best known for rising Mr. Trash Wheel to internet stardom with her dank meme game. Robyn dreams of someday being so fantastically rich that she can hire a team of scientists to bio-engineer a dinosaur theme park. Until then she keeps herself busy organizing the “Late Night Scaries” festival, belting out a tune at BMore Karaoke, and creating spectacles wherever she finds herself.

This class is offered completely online through Zoom. We recommend using a computer for the best experience. You do not need a Zoom account, but you might want to try it before the class so you are familiar with it.

All students must agree to the Highwire Improv Code of Conduct
