It’s time to get to know some members of the Highwire community! Based on the classic improv warmup, here’s Five Things With… Millie Hoffman!
About Millie (she/her)
Millie is a Highlandtown resident, an elementary school teacher (22 years), and loves to garden and then take pics of her garden! With Highwire, she is a teacher (primarily Levels 1 and 2), workshop instructor, and performer with Babeprov, Sandcats, Girl Talk, Teen Angst, Mohan and Millie, and debuting this month…Marshmallow and Sour!
Five Things with Millie!
- What Lights You Up About Improv? I got into it due to the team aspect; I really love the supportiveness of it. You’re creating something on the spot, and your scene partner just adds even more magic!
- What’s Your Favorite Improv Game or Form? Ooooh, is it weird I love a montage?
- What’s Your Wildest Improv Memory? The first Bit Show…I really felt like I was a part of the community for the first time and I loved the energy and creative ideas everyone had.
- If you could pick one special touch for The Highwire Center, what would it be? No limits, no guarantees 🙂 A perfect backdrop/wall that’s so Highwire it hurts (for pics of course!) And some kind of space (wall, book, etc) that folks can sign that they were there. And a tv in the front room with rotating pics of recent shows and team graphics, etc. And swinging big here…maybe a mini fridge for the greenroom??? Is there exposed brick inside? If so, maybe folks could ‘buy’ a brick and get to sign it? (Like the chairs at Blue Brick).
- Highlandtown is full of amazing businesses – restaurants, artists, local entrepreneurs, and more. Where are we likely to see you before or after an event at the Highwire Center? My HOUSE, lol. But seriously, Rooftop Hot is a fav grocery store and gotta give Rust n Shine my love too!
Any closing thoughts?
I can talk plants any time/any where…just love ’em!
